NEW BIKER !!!
On November 8th, Ian Robert Rotach entered the world at
19 1/2 inches and weighing in at 7 pounds, 10 oz. He is the son of John and Holly Rotach of Denver, CO, and joins his big sister Lilly. I believe his first words were "Grandpa" and "Goldwing". I know that out his other end came the sounds of a "Harley"!

LUCKY DUCKS
Or...in this case swans. On my ride Sunday I stopped at the overlook near Brownsville and took these photos of the wild fowl there...a lot of trumpeter swans. I got thinking that in a few days these guys will be "winging" their way south to warmer weather, and I still have to wait another two and a half months before I get to go....LUCKY DUCKS!!

Upcoming Rides
Just to let those of you who haven't put your bikes away yet, I plan to ride on Friday, the 9th and Saturday, the 10th. I will be leaving from Casey's around noon on both those days and should be back around 4. You're welcome to come along. It looks like those two days are going to be the nicest for a while.

New Bike for the Club
Meryle has offered to buy this Harley for the club, but he says he is the only one who gets to drive it and Gordy has to start it! It has 10 seats and 7 engines. It is 25 ft. long, weighs 3,000 lbs. (5,000 loaded), holds 9 gallons of gas, and gets 22 miles a gallon. We are going to have to meet somewhere else besides Casey's on Wednesday nights however, because it has a turning radius of 60 ft.!

Cool, Spooky, but No Bugs!
For all practical purposes, last Wednesday, the 31st, was the last Wednesday night ride for the year due to daylight savings time. Gary and I rode about 50 miles that Halloween night. You can see Gary in the photo above after we stopped at G & T's. It was cool, spooky, but NO BUGS!! Heated seat and grips are great!!

WNR member bags a bear!
Dennis was able to bag this bear near the Blocker condo in Chetek recently. No one knows for sure if the bear season was open or if he even had a license, but we'll promise not to tell anyone!!

Last Minute Rides
We had a couple of really nice days this past two weeks, so we had a couple of "unscheduled" rides during the week. Last Tuesday, the 16th, Wayne M., Bob Z., David H., and I went on about a 200 mile jaunt into Wisconsin. We actually followed some of the same route I used for the Couples Trip. We even stopped for burgers at the 108 different ones at Dawg's in Mindoro. They were good again!
On Wednesday, the 24th, David H, Meryle, and I traveled up near Houston and LaCrescent. We had a nice lunch in Houston and rode down Tschumper Road (the most scenic three mile stretch of road in the tri-states) to Hokah and back through Caledonia on the newly completed HWY 44. It was about a 150 mile trip. Warm but not too sunny. This time of year it's interesting to see some things you can't see when the leaves are on the trees!
We continue to ride on Wednesday nights as long as the weather and daylight hold up. Last Wednesday, the 24th, Dave H, Jim S, Lars, and I rode up 76 to A 26, over to New Albin, and back down to Lansing and back to Waukon on 9. We put on about 60 miles, but it gets dark in about an hour, so any of the upcoming Wednesday rides will be short.
LAST MINUTE RIDES
If the weather looks good on a particular upcoming day, and I decide I'm going to go on a ride, I'll post it here as to where and what time. Anyone is welcome to come along with me!

Chicken Run
We actually had 5 riders total on two separate dates. Wayne & Wayne went on the original day and Meryle, Gary, and Bob went last Sunday, the 21st. Nice ride (about 180 miles round trip), good chicken, good weather, good company. Not near as many there, so no waiting. Here's a couple of photos.
