FINAL REPORT FROM FLORIDA

Since we will be heading back to the frozen tundra on Friday, this will be the last post from Florida.  We are getting torrential rains today in Panama City Beach, so no riding today.  I knew we could take care of the drought down here!  With only a couple of riding days left, I will have about 1,800 miles on the Wing before we come back.  Here our some photos of our latest adventures.  Most of them are self-explanatory, but I want to comment on a couple of them. First of all, you will notice a couple of photos of the new Harley store they are building here in Panama City Beach.  Notice also in the photos that the building right behind the new store is the PCB SEWAGE DISPOSAL PLANT!  While I was taking the photo, a guy on a Harley rode up and told me he couldn't wait for the new store to open.  I asked him about the old store.  He said, "It was lousy.  IT STUNK!"  (You can't make this stuff up!)  Secondly, you may notice that Howard has expanded his business holdings to a motel in Panama City.  I understand that the rates are charged by the hour, and it's located right next to a "fancy" tattoo parlor. Way to go, Howard!! Finally, you will notice a photo of the Wing in front of a Tate's Hell Forest sign.  Google up Tate's Hell and you will find an interesting story about Mr. Tate.  This forest area was also used during WWII to train soldiers for jungle fighting. If you look closely, you will also noticed that I have expanded my business holdings also!

See you guys soon.  By the way, I understand that Tom is doing a piss-poor job with the weather back there!

I now have about 1,400 miles on the Wing since we've been here.  I rode up to Defuniak Springs last Saturday morning to attend a GWRRA chapter meeting.  It was about 55 degrees, but I was the only one to ride to the meeting.  Bunch of wimps down here in Florida!!  Julie and I rode a trip along the coast east of here to Port St. Joe.  I also rode over to Ft. Walton Beach (Eglin Air Base) to see the Air Force Armament Museum.  Here's some photos I took since the last report.

REST STOP ON OUR RIDE
I'm not going to mention the weather, because I know what it's been like since we left Waukon after that ice storm at the end of January.  I have been able to put around 600 miles on the Wing since we've been here at Panama City Beach.  Last Friday we rode over to Pensacola to visit the Naval Air Museum and then to take a ride with the Pensacola Gold Wing Club on Saturday.  Here's some photos of our trip to Pensacola.

ELVIS RODE A HONDA!!

We stopped at Graceland in Memphis on the way down to Florida.  This is a "must see" if you enjoyed Elvis Presley at all.  Here's a few photos of the bikes he rode.  Besides the Harleys, he also rode a Honda Dream.
