6 PACK CHASES RAINBOWS----BUCKNUCKLES--SOME BAD LUCK

After checking the radar on the computer at home, there were no rain clouds in a 75 mile radius, so Boscobel was picked as the destination.  Six of us gathered as Casey's for the Wednesday night ride.  Jim & Cathy were there on their Wing, along with Howard and Bob R on bikes.  Meryle (welcome back) and Darrel had their trikes out.

JIM EXPLAINING TO CRAIG HOW TO USE THE TRASH BIN!
Heading out, our intent was to journey over to the DQ in Boscobel, but as we got going on the Elon Road, the weather alert kicked in on my GPS showing storms all across the river to the east.  When we got to the end of the Elon Road, we turned onto Lansing/ Harpers Road and down into Lansing.  After crossing the bridge and heading south on 35, the radar on the Wing still showed fairly strong storms to the east, so instead of heading to Lynxville, we turned on CR C just outside of Ferryville and headed east.  We then got to HWY 27 and headed north into Viroqua.  A few drops hit the windshield, but nothing major.  However, as we found out had we continued on east, we would have gotten soaked.  We were treated to a neat rainbow and thankfully Cathy had her camera along.

We stopped at the Kwik Trip in Viroqua for a break, considering ourselves lucky for just missing some pretty significant rain.

JIM HIDING HIS FACE FROM THE CAMERA--HE'S WANTED IN 6 STATES!
After leaving Kwik Trip, we headed back west on HWY 56 and then took CR N over to HWY 82.  A lot of CR N was wet, so again we must have just missed a lot of rain.  We continued south on 82 into DeSoto and then onto 35 again.  Along the way we saw some interesting cloud/sun formations.  Cathy captured another one.

We passed over the bridge and through Lansing again and took the "pool table top"  aka HWY 9 back into Waukon and Gus & Tony's where Bugsy joined us.  The conversation centered on shooting up old bathtubs and toilet bowls!  I had about 112 miles on the Wing at G&T's.

BUCKNUCKLES IS SUNDAY
We are going to take our second chance journey up to Praag, Wisconsin, and taste the fine fare at Bucknuckles.  We will depart Casey's at 10 AM on SUNDAY.  There is no ride on Saturday.

SOME TOUGH LUCK
Apparently Wayne & Sandy had some tough luck on their journey into the UP of Michigan.  I guess the bearings in the axle of the DFT failed and Wayne & Sandy and the trike had to be trucked home.  We all feel bad for them.  I saw the DFT at Charlie's in Rossville, and he said he had the parts ordered, so hopefully the Fish's will be able to join us again soon!!  As most of us know, if something is going to happen to our rides, it won't be close to home!!
