GOIN' CRUISIN'

We left Florida and arrived safely in Hartsville, SC, where Julie's sister and husband live.  On the way to Hartsville, we stopped in Savanna, GA, where we took the trike to the old part of town and took a walking tour of the historic squares.  On one of the squares we saw the house that William Tecumseh Sherman used as a headquarters on his march to the sea in the civil war.  It is also known for all of its beautiful churches.  Savanna is a beautiful old southern city!  Near Savanna we toured the Mighty Eighth Air Force Museum.  The Mighty Eighth is famously known as the flyers who never turned back on a mission in WWII due to enemy fire.  After Savanna we took a short drive up to Charleston, SC, where we rode the trike out to Patriots' Point.  From there we took a tour boat over to Fort Sumpter where the first shots of the civil war were fired.  When we returned to port, we went aboard the USS Yorktown carrier that is docked there as a museum.  This ship is a rebuild of the original Yorktown carrier that was sunk at the battle of Midway in 1942.

After a few days here in Hartsville touring and golfing, we will be heading up to the Charlotte, SC, airport and board a plane (flying sardine can) and fly into San Juan to start our cruise with the Goldwingers.  Our stops include St. Maarten, St. Kitts, Antigua, St. Lucia, and Barbados.  If everything goes as scheduled (good luck there!), we should be back in the States on Saturday, March 17th and home on Monday.  DON'T FORGET THE PMS MEETING ON THE 28th!!  Here's hoping everything is going well with our little new member, and please get the weather straightened out before we get back!

Here's a few photos of our latest adventures.
