WHILE WE WERE GONE

While 9 of the Wednesday Night Riders were on the guys' trip to the Smokey Mountains, there were still enough riders to grab the Wednesday night ride.

Here's a report from Dee:

We had a quiet Wednesday Night Ride on August 3 due to the humid, warmweather and also because most of the guys were on the Guys' Trip outeast. Five showed up -- Ron and Darrel on their trikes, Dee on her bike, and Irv and Terry in Irv's 'Vette. Ron allowed himself to besweet-talked into leading the ride, and he took us on a lovely spin ofabout 110 miles. We traveled through Dorchester and Spring Grove, andthen followed Minnesota Highway 4 through through Yucatan to Houstonwhere we took a brief break. We were all curious about the Houston FireDepartment water truck that was being refueled during our break. Rontalked to the driver and filled us in about how the FD uses the truckfor supplying water to fires. The last leg of Ron's ride went throughHokah, Brownsville, Lansing, and up the long curvy road to Churchville. The ride ended at Green Valley Getaway north of Waukon for supper. Itried the dill pickle fries and they're really tasty! --Dee
