Hi Everyone!
First of all our "Guys Trip" went very well! Now since we have at least one female rider that enjoyed the trip, I will assume that we will probably have more for the next one. And since there seems to be less interest in guys going now we should probably change the name of the ride. And now that gender pronouns are now so numerous that you don't dare to offend anyone, we will call it the "Special Trip" from now on. With the limited time I have before we take off for the Ozarks for a family reunion next week, I will post the ride that Jim led last Wednesday, and try to get some photos of the "Guys" trip next time. Also, for you riders on the "Guys" trip, it will be a couple of weeks before I get time to put together the trip dvd. If you have some photos that you would like included in the dvd, then just e-mail them to me.
Also, keep in mind that you will need a new leader for next Wednesday night and for the Mystery Ride To Eat on Saturday, the 12th, set to leave Casey's at 4 PM. I plan to be back in town on Sunday, the13th, and get ready with Ron & ChucK to give rides to the Good Sam folks here in Waukon on Monday. If you would like to observe the trike ride for seniors, it will be Monday at 10:00 AM starting at Good Sam. Ron, ChucK, and Bob R will meet at Hardees at 9:30 that morning for a briefing and a pre-ride check.
Now hopefully Jim's Wednesday night report will follow.
WNR updateWith or usual leader and a lot of the group off on a motorcycle trip tothe UP we had a smaller group on a nice Wednesday night. We had Jim D,Lois, Jim and Cathy on bikes. Darrel, Ron, Richard and Melody on 3wheels. Irv and Terry in the even faster Corvette convertableWe headed out on 76 to Marquette, then 18 to 52, 13 to 128 back to 52through Garnavillo to our pit stop in Guttenberg at Kwik Star. Aftersome refreshments and chatter we headed out on the Great River road backto Marquette and went up the hill to 18. Took 18 across the MightyMississippi to Prairie and followed 35 to 82 across the dike back toLansing and 9 back to Waukon. I always enjoy riding along that stretchof the river, especially early and late in the day. We had some reallynice roads! I had 137 miles on the bike when we reached Uptown Grill.Conversation tuned to how much water it takes to fill the Mississippiespecially where it is so wide below Ferryville and snowmobiling upnorth in very deep snow . Apparently you don't want to step of thegroomed trail for a bathroom break. You may actually be in over your head!
PS
I think I'm getting too old for this! Have a good time while I'm gone!
