Baker's Dozen to Arlington

On a beautiful summer evening, thirteen Wednesday Night Riders filled the parking lot at Casey's in anticipation of a pleasant ride through the northeast Iowa countryside.  The group consisted of 5 trikes ridden by Chuck (not Chuckles), Ron, Irv, Wayne & Sandy, and Darrel; 6 bikes with Howard, Al, Bob Z, David, Lois, and Bob R aboard, while Greg furnished the support convertible.

BOY, THE SUN'S BRIGHT!

WE'VE GOT QUITE A GROUP TONIGHT!
We departed Casey's with temps in the mid 80's and took HWY 9 west to Centennial Road and turned south.  We followed Centennial down to CR W46 for a ways west and then jogged onto W42 and into Ossian.  Just outside of Ossian we saw new signs posted that indicated a spot where the Yellow River begins.  W42 passes through Ossian where it becomes Juniper Road and leads us into West Union where we take HWY 150 south.  150 took us south to Fayette where we passed through town and got a look at Upper Iowa University.  On the edge of Fayette we found Wadena Road then Kornhill Road and finally onto G Avenue.  G took us to HWY 187 where we turned east and cruised into Arlington's 6 Corners Gas & Grub for a break.

DAVID TOOK LOIS'S PARKING SPOT
After our break we took CR W51 north out of Arlington and onto C2W where the scenery really started to turn beautiful as it did on C24 where we watched some deer dance in front of us.  C 24 took us back to W51 and down through Wadena and Elgin.  The views coming down the hills into these two towns are really something to behold! We continued on W51 into Cleremont where we found B60 heading east and then onto the Gunder Road north again.  The short stretch of Gunder Road took us to HWY 18 just outside of Postville.  We passed through Postville and took HWY 51 north to HWY 9 and then east to W60 at Fishville and turned north again to Old Stage Road and east into Waukon and Gus & Tony's where Bugsy greeted us.

Once inside Bugsy disappeared to take a call from Donald Trump.  I had 126 miles on the Wing at Gus & Tony's.

NEW LEADER NEXT WEDNESDAY
Bob R will be leading some of the other WNR from Hell to the north shore of Lake Superior on next Wednesday, so you will need a new leader.  Also Gus & Tony's will be closed on the next two Wednesday nights.
