Unlike last week when we rode with temps in the low 90's, this Wednesday's temps in the high 70's drew 10 Wednesday night riders. Showing up on bikes were Lissa (new ride), Lois, Chuckles, and Mike. Trike riders were Irv, Dave, and Bad Back Bob. Richard & Melodye arrived in the newly repaired Slingshot while Ken drove up in his "support" converible.

KEN IS WELCOMED TO THE GROUP |
With the back still not 100%, but good enough to go, Bad Back Bob led the group out of Casey's onto a very busy HWY 9. We then arrived at HWY 76 and onto Forest Mills Road. We sped past the Gelo plantation and on in to Luana. There we picked up HWY 18 and headed east. After passing through Monona, Froelich, Giard, and Marquette we crossed the Mississippi river and cruised into Prarie du Chien. We followed the bypass on 18 around PDC and stayed on 18 past Bridgeport until turning on CR C. Up the hill we went and then took CR X over to CR P. All three of these county roads are well maintained and offer some excellent views of rivers and bluffs. CR P took us downhill and onto CR A heading east again. CR A is a smooth straight shot over to CR VV. We turned south there and another straight shot took us to CR V. Following V we soon arrived at North Andover and took a break at the soon to be very busy, MC Sports Bar & Grill. We were very careful not to park in the "grumpy" neighbor's driveway.

LISSA TELLS OF A FRIGHTENING EXPERIENCE WITH A DEER |
After refreshments at MC we followed HWY 133 for a short jog over to CR V again and continued in an easterly direction. CR V is a fairly straight road, but it is blessed with some neat hills. So up and down we went over to CR U. Unfortuately CR U was being resurfaced and had some loose gravel on its surface. However, since it was just a short 2 miles long, we took our time and arrived safely at HWY 35. HWY 35 into Bloomington is in pretty good shape, but as one continues on it through Patch Grove and over to HWY 18 we find it definitely is in need of some resurfacing. HWY 18 took us back into PDC and across the river again into Marquette. There we took HWY 76 back north into Waukon where some of us ate at Fiesta Vallarta since Uptown was closed for vacations. I ended up with 128 miles on the Wing when I arrived at home.
Great ride under great temps, and thankful that Lissa was able to avoid the deer this time! Next Wednesday--All Roads lead to Steuben.
CHANGE OF PLANS
After learning that quite a few of our Wednesday night riders had other commitments on Saturday, our scheduled Mystery RTE for that day has been moved to Sunday. We will depart Casey's at 11 AM, with the food destination still being a mystery! Hopefully we will be able to get more participants on Sunday. EVERYONE IS INVITED!
IN CASE WE SEE ANOTHER DEER IN THE ROAD !!
