With the route being Bob's "shortcut" to Hood Scoops Ice Cream Shop in Stoddard, the group departed Waukon via HWY 9 heading for Lansing. Once we arrived in Lansing, we crossed on the Blackhawk Bridge while eyeing the new construction going on for the new bridge. We then arrived in Wisconsin and took HWY 35 south to CR B.CR B is an interesting road that contains some twisties along with some great views. Right now at times it seems like we are riding through tunnels of corn fields. Once we reach HWY 27, we turn north for a short distance and take ROAD CLOSED HWY 82 back west. Bob wanted to take CR N over to HWY 56, and with HWY 82 closed from HWY 35, this was the only way to make it happen.
We took our time making the 3 mile journey on 82 into West Prairie and then found CR N and made the turn. CR N is another of the neat alphabet roads that make up the county roads in this part of Wisconsin. Again, some challenging curves along with some great views. CR N ends at HWY 56, and we take a short jog west and turn onto CR O. This alphabet highway is one of the best. Smooth blacktop along with some fantastic scenery make this one not to be missed when you're in the area.
We follow O past Newton until we reach Enterprise Road. This is a "shortcut" over to CR KK, another scenic alphabet stretch of road, that takes us to HWY 162 just outside of Chaseburg. We roll through town and stay on 162 all the way to Stoddard. We park outside of Hood Scoops and make our way into a very busy ice cream shop.

SUCH A PLEASANT DAY TO SIT OUTSIDE AND ENJOY ICE CREAM |

BETTER THAN WHIPPY DIP?! |
After a dip, or two, we continue our journey heading back to Waukon for another dip, or two, at WW Dairy. We turn back onto HWY 162 for a short ways and find a part of CR O that takes us across some beautiful valleys and onto CR K. Again, the alphabet roads offer up some great riding on a perfect day. CR K ends at HWY 56 just outside of Genoa and we follow it through town and onto HWY 35 going south. We cruise along 35 at a faster pace since we have to make it to WW Dairy by 5 o'clock closing time. We cross the Blackhawk Bridge again into Lansing and motor on into Waukon with plenty of time to spare. We were joined there by Dennis & Marlene and Jens & Jane.We had 120 miles on the trike and a belly full of ice cream! A great day for a ride! Special welcome to Patty and Larry. We look forward for them joining us again.
NEXT WEDNESDAY
Right now the ride looks to be into the Clermont area.
