THREE WET BUTTS

Wednesday night was "refreshing" at the least!  Dayton, Joan, and Bob R left Casey's under threatening skies but warm temperatures.  It looked promising to the north and east, so we headed up north on 76.  Before we got too far, the rain started and got worse until we were able to head east on A26.  We had pleasant riding for a few miles before it started peeing on us again.  We turned off A26 onto the Lycurgus Road where we ran into another hard shower and the wind was picking up.  When we reached Lycurgus we decided we had had enough fun for one night and headed our wet butts for home.
I had planned to journey up through the orchards in Gays Mills, because my informants told me that the apple trees were in beautiful bloom on Monday.  If the wind and rain didn't take all the blossoms off, it might be worth a Mothers' Day weekend trip up through there to check it out.  Apparently this was the best bloom they had in years.  Too bad the weather witch didn't cooperate so we could see it!
Hopefully next Wednesday night will show more promise, and keep the Memorial Day ride in mind. If any of you lost your ride sheets let me know.  I have some extras.
