WAS IT REALLY WEDNESDAY NIGHT??!!

It was hard to believe that with clear skies and temps in the 80's, that it could possibly be a Wednesday night!  However 21 (a near record number) Wednesday night riders must have believed, because we did have a record 4 support vehicles to go with 11 trikes and bikes show up at Casey's.  Bugsy, Kenny (newbie), David, and Dennis & Marlene brought the support vehicles.  Chuck (not Chuckles), Wayne & Sandy, Ron & Helen, Darrel, Bernell & Kathy, and Gary & Gloria rode three wheelers.  While Larry, Roger (joined us in Ossian), Chuckles, Lois, Al, and Bob were on bikes.

We departed at 5:30 with the Gelos rolling in just in time.  Heading west on HWY 9 we turned south onto Centennial Road just east of Decorah.  C Road took us over to CR W46 west and then to CR W42 south through Ossian where we picked up Roger.  CR W42 seemed rough and as we rounded a curve we discovered that the Winneshiek County Highway Department could care less about dangers to motorcyclers because they spread gravel chips on the curve without putting up warning signs.  Fortunately Bob was able to control his bike and signal to followers of the impeding danger.  We continued on W42 until we came to CR B40 (Great River Road) and took it west again over to HWY 150.  Turning south on 150 we passed by El Dorado, through West Union and Fayette, and turned east on Klock Road around Upper Iowa University and onto CR C24 (Kornhill Road).  Heading south and east on Kornhill we found G Avenue and took it south to HWY 187.  187 east took us into Arlington and 6 Corners Gas for a break.

YES, THAT REALLY IS ROGER OVER THERE
We departed Arlington heading north on CR W51 and took in some beautiful scenery on the way through Wadena and into Elgin.  In Elgin we turned west on on W51 over to Clermont and onto HWY 18 heading east.  Following 18 we arrived in Postville and took HWY 51 north up to HWY 9 where our Winneshiek riders turned west towards home.  The rest of us continued on 9 to Waukon where Chuckles, Lois, Wayne & Sandy, Dennis & Marlene and Bob stopped at City Club for supper.  Fish, chicken, and shrimp all took a hit.  City Club will remain our supper stop after Wednesday night rides.  I had a little over 120 miles parked across from City Club.  Again it was hard to believe we actually had a Wednesday night with this good weather!  Helen said she put the hex on the Weather Witch, so that may be the reason.

You may need a new leader next Wednesday since Dennis and Bob are making plans to go small mouth bass fishing in Boulder Junction, Wisconsin.
